Enabling core modules to migrate content

Drupal 8 comes with a set of modules in core to help migrate content from previous versions of Drupal. You can enable these modules by selecting Extend from the administrative menu:

Core migration modules

These modules perform the following functions:

  • Migrate: It installs the core migration API
  • Migrate Drupal: It installs helper classes to assist in migrating Drupal 7 and earlier sites to Drupal 8
  • Migrate Drupal UI: It adds a user interface
