This chapter gave an overview of how technology is changing and how that affects forensics. Even technology that has been in place for many years, such as the personal computer, is changing as increased storage, speed, and performance are developed. New technologies, such as Google Glass, are emerging and will require forensic analysis.
There are also new laws, such as the Patriot Act, and new techniques being developed. These both affect how evidence is collected and processed. It is imperative that a forensic investigator be familiar with these laws.
