Online wallets

A beginner will find online wallets easy to use. It's similar to using an online bank account. Here, you don't have access to your private key because it is maintained by the online wallet provider. Secret keys that are stored online are known as hot wallets.

You can log in to online wallets using a browser or a mobile app. You can check your balance, send or receive money, and see your past transactions. Though these wallets are easy to use, they are prone to attacks. If their systems are breached, the private keys of users can be stolen. Such incidents have happened in the past. Coinpayments and Gatehub.net are examples of online wallets.
